Wallingford, Conn. (Jan. 3rd, 2017) – Frank DiCristina, Site Manager at allnex in Wallingford, recently announced that the third workshop of the allnex Environmental Speaker Series will play host to live birds of prey including a hawk, falcon and owl, educating middle school students and parents about habitat protection for birds and care for the environment. This hands-on workshop will be held on Wed., Feb 1st beginning at 6 p.m. in the allnex Community Room at HUCBAP Wallingford.

“This workshop promises to engage students and parents alike,” DiCristina said. “We, at allnex, take pride in offering environmental education opportunities. We want to help community members learn how to help protect and preserve local natural habitats.”

The birds of prey will be visiting from A Place Called Hope, a rehabilitation center that heals injured, orphaned or ill birds and returns them to their home in the wild. Birds that cannot be returned to the wild are shared at educational presentations, teaching attendees how to co-exist with backyard wildlife.

Additionally, Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Educator Susan Quincy will offer interactive stations to help attendees learn how to take care of the environment and protect natural habitats.

A complimentary dinner will be offered at 6 p.m. and the presentation will be held from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Through its Environmental Speaker Series, allnex aims to inspire local business leaders and residents to reduce their environmental footprint and create environmental awareness.
