Giving Back to Make a Wish Foundation

Sep 5, 2019 Corporate
"In this way we contribute to our focus on sustainability and moreover we support the Make a Wish foundation." Hans Willem van Voorst, Sourcing Specialist Indirect BoZ

Netherlands, (September 5, 2019) - allnex, a leading supplier of specialty chemicals, offering a broad range of coating resins, additives and crosslinkers for use on wood, metal, plastic and other surfaces, is proud of our Bergen Op Zoom site for not only for finding a way to help protect the environment and give back to the community at the same time.

Empty cartridges and toners are harmful to the environment and therefore shouldn’t just be put in the waste bin as they were in the past. Hans Willem van Voorst, Sourcing Specialist Indirect BoZ, has given this particular waste stream some thought and has organized a new solution for disposing of used cartridges. From now on, empty cartridges and toners will be collected via a dedicated box at the site. In addition, empty cartridges are also worth money, and the site decided the revenue received from that will go directly to the Make a Wish Foundation.

The Make a Wish Foundation is committed to making wishes come true for children diagnosed with critical illnesses, whether that means a trip to Disneyland, meeting their hero or any other wishes they have. In this way the site "hits two birds with one stone" as they take care of the environment and help the children.

Hans Willem van Voorst noted: “This feels so good as we all know about the damage of empty cartridges and toners to the environment. In this way we contribute to our focus on sustainability and moreover we support the Make a Wish foundation. I am sure that all colleagues will support this great initiative!”

Thank you, Hans, and the Bergen Op Zoom team for this fantastic new initiative!
