FRANKFURT, April 3, 2019) - allnex, the leading supplier of specialty chemicals, offering a broad range of coating resins, additives and crosslinkers for use on wood, metal, plastic and other surfaces, is thrilled to announce the launch of the first ever Primavera Day, a global celebration of the start of a renewed focus on sustainability for every allnex location around the world.
Through Primavera Day we reaffirm that sustainability is part of who we are and a pillar of our strategy. We celebrate our continued commitment to a better planet through our daily actions and the investments we are making.
As we embrace this responsibility we are focused on contributing to a greener and sustainable future together with our customers. We believe that “together, we make the difference.”
In 2016, the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by world leaders in a historic UN Summit — officially came into force. On March 21st of 2019, each of our 33 production sites held a meeting to explain Primavera Day both from the corporate and local perspective, and the various activities each would do to support and promote the SDGs going forward.
“With our first Primavera Day, we want to honor all that we have already done over the course of time in this context, and also set the stage for our future strategic activities and commitments in sustainability,” says Miguel Mantas, CEO, allnex. “We want to contribute to a greener world by making circular thinking the core principle of how we do business. We aim to achieve this by designing products with enhanced longevity or intended for multiple uses, increasing resources’ productivity as well as reducing the use of finite sources.”
From improved recycling to community outreach programs, increased efficiency to responsible consumption, we look forward to sharing with you the details of our sites activities and the improved results. Thank you for letting us share with you our goal to “Painting a Sustainable World.”
