“At allnex-Wallingford, the safety of our employees and the community is of the utmost importance, and we're honored to have such an outstanding Fire Chief representing our site fire department.” Frank DiCristina, allnex-Wallingford Site Manager

Wallingford, Connecticut, December 13th, 2017,  allnex-Wallingford recently honored Fire Chief, Fritz Hughes, Jr for 35 years of loyal service at its annual Fire Department dinner held at Farms Country Club in Wallingford. Surrounded by allnex and Evonik colleagues, as well as Wallingford Fire Department Deputy Chief Joe Czentnar, Hughes was humbled and thankful for their many years of support.

Frank DiCristina, allnex-Wallingford Site Manager, was proud to celebrate the long-term service of Fritz Hughes. “He is an exceptional employee and his commitment to the safety of our site is commendable.”

The allnex Fire Department was created in the late 1940s and now consists of 23 members and two fire trucks, one with foam capability. While each member holds a full-time position at the plant, they stand ready to respond when needed. Fire Department personnel are fully trained in CPR and the use of our onsite automated external defibrillator (AED). These and other life-saving skills are learned via extensive weekly training workshops held onsite by Hughes and collaboratively with the Wallingford Fire Department.

“At allnex-Wallingford, the safety of our employees and the community is of the utmost importance,” DiCristina said. “We are honored to have such an outstanding Fire Chief representing our site fire department.”
