allnex to streamline its operations in Australia and New Zealand

Frankfurt, June 20, 2023 –  allnex, the global leader in sustainable and innovative resins for industrial coatings, has announced plans to streamline its manufacturing operations in New Zealand and Australia.
 
In order to ensure long-term sustainability of businesses in that region, allnex announced to close its production site in Penrose, New Zealand, in Q4 2024 and also to discontinue its production site in Botany, Australia, within 5 years.
 
allnex’s production site in Wacol, Australia, is unaffected by these decisions and will continue to service our Composites and Coatings customers.
 
This strategic decision was reached after a thorough review of all regional operations, revealing long term business sustainability concerns at both sites. To ensure the long-term viability of the businesses, prohibitive investments would be required, resulting in unacceptably higher costs to our customers.
 
Miguel Mantas, CEO allnex commented, "By making these strategic changes, allnex is taking proactive measures to ensure a sustainable future for the businesses and the sourcing needs of our customers”.
 
allnex is currently defining specific local and offshore production options within its broad manufacturing network that will enable a continued and competitive supply of its customers in the region.
 
This measure will unfortunately impact manufacturing employees in both locations. allnex is committed to providing comprehensive support to its employees during this transition period.
