“It was an eye-opening event and I’m certain everyone walked away with actionable steps they can implement in their professional and personal lives.”
Ricardo Rocha, Ponta Grossa Site Manager
allnex Ponta Grossa employees recently participated in Safety Week 2019, a week-long event filled with a variety of educational sessions designed specifically to draw attention to the safety, health, and well-being of the team. Whether the topic was regarding the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) or the importance of eating healthy, the team left feeling better informed and energized.
The event kicked off with a presentation by the site’s Internal Committee of Accident Prevention, who reviewed the plant’s major safety improvements over the last five years. This informative lookback called, “The Sustainability Tunnel,” included the implementation of hard hats, reflective uniforms, and safety life lines. Team members were proud of the many accomplishments in keeping their colleagues safe on the job.
“Safety Week 2019 highlighted several of the improvements that have benefited our team through the years,“ Gisele Rosa, Laboratory Analyst, said. “Everyone participated actively and with great enthusiasm.”
With memories of the many safety improvements still fresh in their minds, the event continued with a presentation by Neil Cardoso of Honeywell Brazil, who spoke about the importance of PPE usage. Cardoso shared the evolution of safety equipment, provided examples of the various types of PPE’s, and how each can be utilized to prevent accidents.
The tides turned from professional safety to personal wellness mid-week when licensed nutritionist, Liciane Lovato Toffoli, of SESI-PR took the stage and provided attendees with a wealth of information about the importance of a balanced diet. The week closed out with fun safety activities including a treasure hunt and pie throwing contest.
“The Ponta Grossa team thoroughly enjoyed participating in Safety Week 2019,” Ricardo Rocha, Ponta Grossa Site Manager, said. “It was an eye-opening event and I’m certain everyone walked away with actionable steps they can implement in their professional and personal lives.”
