Frankfurt, Germany (September 21, 2020) – allnex, the leading global supplier of coating resins, additives and crosslinkers, is pleased to announce that it has joined United Nations Global Compact, the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative, as a signatory participant. This commitment marks an important step in the company’s sustainability and broader social responsibility strategy. Together with 9,500+ fellow companies based in over 160 countries, allnex will endeavor to take strategic actions that advance societal goals, and learn from CSR initiatives undertaken by their peers in a variety of sectors, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
To reach this goal, UN Global Compact will support allnex in its efforts to conduct business in a responsible way, by ensuring the company’s overall strategy and operations are aligned with the Ten Principles set by the organization. These ten principles are derived from several iconic UN guidelines and pertain to four main topics: human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption.
As a signatory participant, allnex will also be required to submit a Communication On Progress (CoP) report every year. This report will be made available to the public.
Miguel Mantas, Chief Executive Officer at allnex, comments on this new partnership: “This is another tangible example of our commitment and focus on continuously improving our sustainability performance as a company. We look forward to being part of the UN Global Compact community and benefiting from all the great tools and resources made available by the organization.”
Michela Fusco, Head of Sustainability at allnex, adds: “Our sustainability program revolves around three United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, where allnex is able to have the greatest impact: affordable and clean energy, responsible consumption and production, and climate action. While we focus primarily on those three areas, there are several other activities within allnex that support every single one of the remaining Sustainable Development Goals. This partnership with Global Compact will undoubtedly help us bring our sustainability strategy, actions and objectives to new heights.”
