Discover allnex’s formulation and performance considerations for waterborne woodcare and decking products

mai 11, 2022 Innovation
Development of waterborne formulations that stand the test of time, might take years to optimize. In recent years resin development has been moving forward relentlessly providing a wide array of options for formulators. Views on sustainability are rapidly evolving, where considerations of bio-content, GHG emissions and substances of concern are becoming more relevant selection criteria.

Our Technical and R&D colleagues have done a lot of research work on how formulations might be optimised in order to find the right balance in sustainability, costs and performance. All backed by years of real time exposure data around the globe. Result and recommendations are gathered in a handbook for waterborne and decking products. We like to share our knowledge in a free webinar May 31 (03.00-04.00 PM CET)  hosted by UL Prospector.

Our speakers from allnex’s Liquid Resins and Additives business line,  Luc Sterckx (Technical Service and Business Development Manager EMEA) and Tom Vanheertum (Marketing Manager EMEA) will present:
  • how formulations might be optimised to find the right balance in sustainability, cost and performance backed by years of real time exposure data around the globe.
  • our product line for these applications; we will feature our REYSDROL® range of alkyds, modified-alkyds SETAQUA® range acrylics in terms of compatibility and suitability in different climates and wood species.
  • our sustainability journey and our approaches in terms of sustainable portfolio management, raw material sourcing and product development for these applications.

Key take-aways :
  • Introduction to wood as a substrate
  • Woodcare :
Binders optimised for wood penetration, drying and durability
  • Decking :
Theory behind binder technology and performance
Overview of performance vs internal and external benchmarks
