allnex Wallingford Marks Primavera Day with Sitewide Cleanup

jul 8, 2021 Corporate
Frank DiCristina, site manager at allnex-Wallingford, and his team recently participated in a cleanup project as part of the organization’s Primavera Day initiatives. The event, which occurs one day prior to World Environment Day, raises awareness of preserving local environments.

“I am proud to be a part of an organization that supports coordinated efforts such as Primavera Day,” DiCristina said. “Sustainability is at the foundation of allnex’s culture, and as a leader in industrial coatings, we seek to be an agent for meaningful change in our world and in our communities.”

The Wallingford team scoured approximately a dozen mostly wooded locations and picked up nearly three full pickup truck beds of trash. Since the Wallingford site is focused on water conservation, the team chose to clean up the areas on and around the site so that this trash would not end up in the Quinnipiac River.

The Quinnipiac River is a thirty-eight mile waterway in Connecticut that runs through fourteen municipalities and eventually finds its way to the Long Island Sound. It has 913 acres of tidal marshlands and twenty tributaries.

allnex is committed to sustainability through its dedication to manufacturing coatings and resins products that are environmentally friendly and support a circular economy. The organization recently published its first-ever integrated Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report showcasing their global efforts by approaching sustainability from a holistic perspective.
