Ms. Rattiya Chandavasu, Senior Vice President of allnex, joined leaders from Hohai University and the Local Authorities to unveil the laboratory plaque, marking the launch of a collaboration that brings together government, academic, corporate, and international expertise to drive innovation in the battery industry. The Joint Laboratory is a strategically designed R&D platform, backed by over 3 million Euro in social and government funding. Its multi-site structure ensures seamless coverage from fundamental research to industrial application: Integrated R&D Center (500m2): Comprehensive battery R&D facilities for general research needs. Advanced Characterization Center (400m2):: In-situ characterization and mechanism studies for next-generation materials. Industrial R&D Center (500m2): Industry-focused battery manufacturing and process development, bridging laboratory innovation directly to market-ready solutions. Located in Changzhou’s Jintan District—the heart of China’s lithium battery industry—the laboratory is embedded in a complete industrial ecosystem spanning materials, equipment, and cell manufacturing. This proximity allows allnex to collaborate closely with leading industry partners, gain timely market insights, and deliver solutions that respond quickly to customer needs. Ms. Rattiya Chandavasu, Senior Vice President of allnex, said: "We are delighted to establish this groundbreaking collaboration with Hohai University and the Changzhou Science and Technology Bureau. By leveraging our expertise in polymers, allnex is developing the next generation battery materials, including new binders for anode and cathode, additives for electrolyte, coatings for separator etc. allnex looks forward to working with our partners to develop superior lithium battery material solutions for our customers and jointly drive the future of energy storage.” Professor Cheng Yajun, Vice Dean of the Renewable Energy College at Hohai University, commented: "This joint laboratory represents a powerful convergence of academic research, industrial expertise, and talent development. It enables innovative ideas in battery research to move swiftly from concept to real-world applications, driving progress across the energy storage sector."
