CYCAT® 600

CYCAT® 600 catalyst is an organic acid catalyst recommended to accelerate the crosslinking reaction of amino resins with polymers containing hydroxyl, carboxyl, or amide functionality. CYCAT® 600 is soluble in aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, esters, ketones, alcohols, glycol ethers and water. It may be used as a replacement for less soluble acid catalysts, such as para-toluene sulfonic acid, in low alcohol-containing formulations. For formulation of 1K systems, CYCAT® 600 should be blocked with an appropriate amine, such as AMP (2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol).
