allnex Optimizes Gelcoat Operations to Strengthen Competitiveness in NORAM

allnex today announced an optimization of its Gelcoat manufacturing footprint to strengthen competitiveness in the NORAM region. As part of this initiative, allnex plans to discontinue Gelcoat production at its Louisville, Kentucky site by June 30, 2026.
 
“In today’s competitive landscape, where we face ongoing cost and margin challenges, allnex is proactively optimizing its operations to strengthen its position across regions”, says Ruben Mannien, Sr. Executive VP. “This step allows us to better position our NORAM Gelcoat business for the future while continuing to serve customers reliably.”
 
The transition will impact 12 site operations employees. allnex is committed to managing the process responsibly and will provide support to all affected employees.

Following the transition, Louisville will now focus on Research & Development (R&D), Technical Service and Business Development (TSBD) activities. The R&D Laboratory and Application and Technology Lab will remain fully operational, reinforcing allnex’s ability to support local market needs and drive innovation.
 
Customer supply continuity will be maintained. Gelcoat products will be supplied through our global supply network. Pre-production is already underway to ensure sufficient inventory throughout the transition period.
 
allnex will inform customers, suppliers, and partners about future supply arrangements in the coming days.
